RENOVATIONS

Saint Dunstan’s Church, a splendid Grade II* listed building, declared of national and international architectural and artistic importance by Heritage England, has embarked on a long series of restoration works.  A first step was to make the roofs watertight to avoid further damage to the structure and interior of the church. The costs for this, some £250,000, was partly funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Future work will include the restoration of the unique windows, with their individual coloured glass panes handmade under a patent of the renowned architect E.S. Prior.  The UK’s foremost stained-glass windows specialists, Salisbury Cathedral Glaziers, have surveyed the windows, and some windows have been prioritised.

We need to keep our fundraising activities going for this.  If you are a parishioner, please review what donations are possible within your means.  We need this building, in good shape, to continue the life of the parish.

We also appeal to all non-parishioners to help us keep this splendid building in good shape.  The unique building is a landmark in Parkstone, Poole, and is the only Arts & Crafts Free Byzantine style basilica in the United Kingdom.
